Minor Monsters (雑妖(さつよう),, Satsuyō) are minor aberrations born from disruptions in curse and grudges of living beings.

Overview

Minor monsters are aberrations that usually take the form of a monstrous animals or small nondescript creatures. High concentrations of curse can corrupt the surrounding wildlife, creating minor monsters. They are relatively weak, being considered ideal targets for extermination by beginner exorcists and are used by Tsuzura Temple as such. Possessing little intellect, minor monsters are incapable of sensing and fleeing which even animals can do. Other aberrations may devour minor monster to increase their own power. Like other aberrations, minor monsters tend to target those with high spiritual power. Under the full-moon, their power is strengthened.
